Preparation Services

Audit Representation
Tax audit representation is an important service where the CPA assists a taxpayer who is being audited by the IRS or state department of revenue. Taxpayers are well advised to have a CPA to properly guide them through the various stages of an audit by the IRS, state or local taxing authority. If you are being audited, the IRS and each state/local tax authority allows an authorized representative to present facts and evidence on the taxpayer’s behalf.
Negotiations & Appeals
After an audit, the IRS (or other authority) will calculate any taxes and penalties alleged to be owed by the taxpayer and make a formal assessment. If the taxpayer disagrees with the assessment, an appeal of the decision can be filed. The IRS may be willing to reduce penalties and interest for purposes of complete resolution of the matter and an agreement on future compliance. PR&P is highly skilled and efficient at tax liability resolution negotiations.
